my favorite part of day 

is when i sit at the kitchen table before everyone is up

and drink my coffee

and eat toast with hummus and avo,

just like i did yesterday

and just like i will do tomorrow,

and everything is quiet

and my coffee is great

and i know my dad was up 

3 hours ago doing the exact same thing

except with orange juice and an english muffin.
